The members and participants of the University of Southampton's entrepreneur society, Fish on Toast, want nothing more than to make a difference in any organisation that they participate in. The antithesis of a placement is being put in a back room where you're asked to shred documents, write power point presentations that no one will ever find useful, and re-heat mugs of half drunk tea.
The Entrepreneur Placement Scheme is the Fish on Toast solution to sub-standard summer work for students and a shot of NOS for any business in the local area. This scheme engages businesses seeking ambitious and driven young minds willing to work on temporary project based work.
Below are some of the projects previously undertaken by our members for local businesses with a couple of extra ideas thrown in too:
At 6.00pm On Tuesday June 9th in Garden Court (map) we will be hosting an event where participating companies will have a representative present and discuss how they want to improve their business. The event will be similar in format to a speed networking event and is scheduled to end at 7.30pm.
Throughout the event business representatives will be encouraged to note down the people they want for their business and make suitable arrangements later in the week.
